Hello and welcome to Culinary Whys! My name is Mari, and I’m thrilled you found your way here.

I’ve always had a passion for food and cooking, paired with an insatiable curiosity for why things are the way they are (might explain my love for Wikipedia).

Here are a few random facts about me: I live with my husband in a small, old house where the kitchen feels straight out of Grandma’s era. We don’t have a cat yet, but I’m working on it.
By day, I work in computer science; by night, I trade keyboards for cutting boards. I’m also the kind of person who is never too full to enjoy a good cookbook.

Although I try to eat healthy (try being the key word), my focus is always on flavor.
